Radio Interview on 103.2 Hope FM

This week the Charlotte Jane Band was privileged to be interviewed on Aaron and Dan's breakfast show in Hope FM's studio. The interview to be aired on Thursday on 103.2 FM at 8:10 am was the first of two interviews this week for the band.

The band also performed one of their arrangements of the legendary Eta James Standard "At Last" on air. The interview overall was focused on an upcoming event on 31 July 2010. The event is "Gospel Live" at the Manly Village Church www.gospellive.org. This will see the band headline a great lineup comprising of Red Ruth, Natalie Miller & The Charlotte Jane Band.

Gospel Live is a forum for christian artists to perform live on a fantastic stage and to an audience that truly enjoy the performing arts. The energy that the audience give to performers provides an atmosphere that brings the best out of any act. This was evidenced when last, the Charlotte Jane Band performed at the Manly Fig, also run by the same organiser to a packed house. This performance drew the best from the band in it's trio outfit. On the 31st, the band will be a 5-piece jazz, funk and soul outfit, presenting rearranged classic gospel songs with the story telling flare of Charlotte Jane. It will be a night not to be missed!

The band also will hopefully have it's latest E.P. out for sale and can be purchased on the night, assuming the publishing company finishes it's part. If not, the tracks should also be available on iTunes. The E.P. entitled "Out of the Blue" includes an original Latin Jazz song accompanied by some classic jazz, funk and Latin grooves. The E.P. is competitively priced at $10.

The Little Snail | Sydney Jazz duo |26 March 2010

The Charlotte Jane band performed last Friday at "The Little Snail". The evening had all the ingredients of a night to remember. A warm Autumn breeze, wonderful French cuisine and great jazz and soul music from Sydney's acoustic duo from The Charlotte Jane band.

The interpretations of some of the great jazz standards in a fun, sassy and very personal way made each song a show piece that took the audience on a journey. Many a toe were involuntarily a tapping while the wine and French signature dishes were consumed. A song of note is the Eta James classic "At Last". A fun interpretation of the song that still gave homage to the original was a crowd pleasing rendition.

The little snail looks over Darling Harbor and amazing views of the city scape, especially at night, is located at 50 Murray St, Pyrmont. It is most famous for it's escargot and with the introduction of jazz every Friday, it is a certainly a restaurant of choice for tourists and locals alike. Close to the business district and sheltered by the harbor from the city traffic, The Little Snail is a restaurant to be tried.

The Charlotte Jane band perform every alternate Friday with their next performance scheduled on 9th April 2010. For more details go to www.charlottejane.com

Sydney Jazz band | Charlotte Jane | L'Aqua

The Charlotte Jane band has a busy schedule ahead leading up to recording their first EP. And looking back on the last week of functions and live gigs, one gig especially was one to remember. L'Aqua was the venue, and on a beautiful warm evening at Sydney's Cockle Bay, it set the scene for a memorable night. The band comprised of Greg Royal on Bass, Matt Moore on Drums, Shami Marandawela on guitar and of course Charlotte Jane on vocals and violin.

L'Aqua is a venue of prime choice for the corporate market and did not fail to live up to it's reputation. The staff and management were extremely competent in catering to a packed house and the food was divine!

The function was in aid of Mobotix, a German based electronics company focusing on survalance cameras, celebrating the previous years achievements. The choice in band was a big complement for The Charlotte Jane Band as this year's booking was the third year in a row that the band has been used. A reflection of the quality of the service that Charlotte Jane brings to the Sydney entertainment arena.

The band started with jazz and soul numbers that created a buzz and atmosphere that had many a toe tapping. The room was full, catering to about 2oo staff and clients of Mobotix, and band fed off the cheers from the crowd to give an electrifying performance.
